Privacy at White & Grace
Last updated 13 May 2026
This page explains what White & Grace collects, why, and how we keep it safe. It covers both the whiteandgrace.com web app and the “Save to W&G” Chrome extension.
What we collect
We only collect what we need to make the product work for you:
- Account details — your email, password (hashed and stored by our auth provider), and the partner names / wedding date / city you enter on the planning dashboard.
- Planning data — guest list entries, RSVPs, budget lines, checklist items, timeline events, seating arrangements, inspiration items (titles, notes, prices, image URLs, decisions), and shared comparison links.
- Saved images — when you crop a screenshot or right-click an image on a website to save it, the image bytes are uploaded to our storage so the item can display the image later.
- Technical metadata — server logs that include IP address, browser user-agent, and timestamps, kept for security and debugging only.
We do not collect your browsing history, social accounts, payment card numbers (Stripe handles those directly), or any data from websites you visit while using the extension other than the inspiration you explicitly click to save.
How we use your data
- To show you the planning tools, inspiration board, and the items you have saved.
- To render shareable comparison links for partners or planners you give the URL to.
- To send you account emails (password resets, invoice receipts, important service notices).
- To investigate abuse or technical issues if they arise.
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or third-party marketers. We do not show ads in the product.
Where your data lives
Account, planning, and inspiration records are stored in a database managed by Supabase on infrastructure in their managed cloud. Saved images live in a Supabase Storage bucket. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see your full card details. Outbound emails are sent via Supabase's built-in auth email + standard mail providers.
Sharing your comparison links
When you create a shareable comparison from your inspiration board (a URL like whiteandgrace.com/c/<id>), anyone with that URL can see those items, their notes, ratings, and your contact / price fields if you filled them in. The URL contains a long unguessable identifier; only people you give the URL to can access it. You can revoke a share by deleting the underlying items or contacting us.
The Chrome extension specifically
The “Save to W&G” extension is single-purpose: it lets you save inspiration from any website to your White & Grace inspiration board.
- Permissions we request and why:
- activeTab — to read the active tab's URL, title, and visible-area screenshot only when you click the extension icon.
- contextMenus — to add “Save image to White & Grace” and similar right-click menu items.
- storage — to remember your sign-in token between browser sessions so you don't have to log in every time.
- tabs, scripting — to inject a hover “Save to W&G” button on top of images and a save form when you trigger one.
- host_permissions (https://*/*) — required so the hover “Save to W&G” button can appear on any website you're browsing for inspiration. The extension never reads or transmits page content beyond the specific image you explicitly click to save.
- Data the extension sends to White & Grace: the URL, page title, and image of the item you click to save; plus your sign-in token to authenticate the save.
- Data the extension does NOT send anywhere: your browsing history, form inputs, passwords on other sites, or page content from sites you simply visit without clicking the save button.
Children
White & Grace is intended for users aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
